NOW, This is a hero

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060814/ap_on_re_us/attacks_hero_found_2

Sounds like stuff right out of the movies or a novel, right? Retired US Marine dons the uniform, and full survival gear to dig people out of a collapsed building. Not fiction, this is the literal truth.

This hero helped get Officer Will Jimeno and Sergeant John McLoughlin of the NY NJ Port Authority Police, out of the collapsed World Trade Center. Both were pinned under rubble for hours, talking to keep each other alive.

This Marine is loosely portrayed in the World Trade Center film by Oliver Stone.

Have we forgotten too soon?

Never heard that story. What a real man.

Haven't seen the film. Don't know if I want to, mostly because it's Stone's and he doesn't get any of my dough anymore.

I have to wonder also about his point. I have to disagree about the meaning of that day. We are already aware of man's ability to survive terrible ordeals, man's nobility in going to someone's aid, people risking injury or death for the benefit of others. But is this to distract from what had happened and who perpetrated the crime? The point of that day to me, is that a group of assholes murdered three thousand fellow Americans in a very cowardly manner for some very bullshit reasons. The point is that there are other assholes who would like to top that tragic day. The point is that if we don't wipe out these assholes, our children are at risk. That's the story of 9/11 and it needs to be hammered home in a manner that prevents forgetting. It's a story too many in this country need to hear and see again and again before they make one more stupid comment about how the war with these assholes is being conducted and who's best capable of waging it.

    Your thoughts...

    By the by,

    Off topic, but worth it:

Go to Tammy Bruce's site (my favorite lesbian) and scroll down the right side. There's a video from the Right Bros called, "Bush Was Right". Doesn't have to be old to be a classic. You won't be sorry.

    Um, no. No, we haven't.

Good lord, Arthur. You're still beating the "don't question your leaders" drum? Ugh...

By the way - the Bears still suck. They really really really really really really suck. Yes, the Bears still suck.

Of course, they WILL be in the Super Bowl this year, but you'll never get me to admit I said so.

Damn it Lester, How the hell are ya? It's getting to be like old home week.

But I'm not saying don't disagree and I never did. But as you know, Dems content themselves with just crapping on every move Bush & Co makes without any suggestion of an alternative. (Well, they may suggest one, but never spell anything out.) And by their disruptions, distortions, outright lies and lack of action or plans, they indicate that they have indeed forgotten.

But just to show you how clearly I see reality, Grossman's gonna have to prove he can complete a pass before we can talk about the Big Show.
