Another Roach Is Back, This Time He's Bringing in Families to Sue Over Pledge

Michael Newdow, who used his kid and failed to get the Pledge of Allegiance overturned is now rigging this one. Now, he's got 2-3 families of atheists. Majority Rule in the US? Not anymore. Thank you 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, aka 9th Jerkit Court of Shlameels, 9th Circus Court of Dirty Deals.....

OK, lemme throw some more blood in the water. I am soooooooo sick of these frickin atheists telling us what to do. Aren't we the MAJORITY and aren't they THE MINORITY? As I recall the Founding FATHERS would not have intended any of this shit....

Non-Aggression Pacts are made to be broken, usually by the guy who initiates them.....

Nazis made a Non Aggression Pact with Poland, which they broke in 1939.

Nazis made a Non Aggression Pact with the USSR, which they broke in 1941 with their invasion.

Japan made a Non Aggression Pact with the US, which they broke on Dec. 7, 1941.

    Need I go on?

These libs make pacts and will soon forget them. Let me say that all libs and atheists are gutless. Gutless to admit there's more to life than their own bullshit logitician games. More than their lives. More than their point of view. At least we listen, they don't. And they are arrogant, for asserting they know more than God.

There, chew on that for a while, scumbags....-Glenn Beck.

Actually, Nick, I entirely disagree with you.

I wouldn't even write this, but having argued with Chef yesterday, it is so much easier for me to respect his words than yours.

Not that I agree with most of what he may believe, but once we got past the bullshit, we both gave one another the opportunity to express it.

    Liberals != Atheists

I know you didn't just write that, per se, but you have many times before, and I am sure it was implied.

I just think you put too much emphasis on government mixed with religion and I can't see how what you say subsequent to that can make much sense.

If Christianity is the majority religion in this country, then > 50% of Americans should be Christians.

But then you'll go on to compare the left and right with the non-believers and the believers. But that can't make sense because the left has won before. Sure, the dems aren't in power now, but even so, by a pretty damn narrow margin.

So at some point, not so long ago, I would imagine that you still would have had the majority of the religion, but not the majority of the government.

Were we godless then (as a country)?

No Kevin, America started the godless slide years ago. We can thank courts taking out VOLUNTARY, elective prayer out of schools, which Clinton in fact approved of.

Also, what STATS are you showing? Dare I say, most Americans while not regular churchgoers, identify themselves with say being Jewish, Hindu, Muslim, or other, or even NONE.

Should the majority of folks, Christian and non-Christian religious bow to the slight percent? Is that fair? I here complaints about fair and just. Answer that, sir.

    Kevin,
No not ALL Liberals are atheists, but the VAST majority of Atheists are Liberals!
The funny part about it is, the Liberals with their accepted views of loose morals being one of the underpinnings of Liberalism ( can you say ACLU SUPPORTING NAMBLA? Can you say protests in Florida in favor of convicted SEX Felons?), they want the US to have "discussions" with AlQaeda ( See the Boston Post, yesterday). IF, and granted, this is a HUGE IF, AlQaeda were ever to somehow gain control in America, these loose moraled liberals would be among the FIRST to taste the sharpened edge of a jihadists SWORD! (Talk about losing their head for a cause???!!!)

    One more thing, Kevin,
Exactly WHERE in the US Constitution does it EVER mention "Separation of church and state"?
I truly do NOT wish for the government to "establish" a religion, however, I ALSO do not want for the government, whether it be through improper reading of the Constitution by SCOTUS, or laws passed by Congress, to continually, forcefully remove Christianity from complete and total recognition in the US, while, at the same time, PROMOTING ISLAM and other Religions!
(Think this is a falsehhod? What about the forced Islam classes in California and other states? What about the "Holiday" pageants forcing out any reference to Christ, while allowing Witches, Earth Mother Gaia observances, New Age religious sumbols, the Star of David, Islamic Symbols and all manner of other symbols, songs & signs? Think this hasn't happened? The stories of it were ALL over the news this past Christmas season, one even happened in a little Oklahoma town, not 5 miles from where I lived at the time, I SAW it on TV!)
On a totally different subject, SCOTUS is SUPPOSED to uphold the US Constitution, and base its rulings on matters of LAW on the US Constitution, where in HELL do they EVER get off mentioning laws of another country and using THAT as a basis for making a decision, as they did just LAST year?????????

No. I don't think anyone should have to bow and I was honestly inquiring as to what the percentages are.

So seriously, what percentage of Americans are Christians? ...b/c I have no idea.

*I'm trying to express this nicely BTW*

I guess a lot of times it just seems that you link Atheism and general godlessness with liberals, or being liberal. ie: Liberals support gay rights - ergo, they must be godless (just for example)

But the reality is that just because people are on the left doesn't mean that they are godless. The converse holds too. My parents are very conservative in most areas, would most likely always vote Republican, but highly oppose the Republican stance of no gay rights, no abortion, and no stem-cell research, for example.

I'm just trying to say that it's not helpful (IMO) to group people into this left and right thing as our country has a tendency to do.

I think there are just issues in the country, and everyone should have a different opinion on each different issue.

In discussions on this subject matter last year, one Liberal actually TOLD me " I have no problem with Christians, but they need to observe it in the 'Privacy of their own home' " This SAME Liberal had NO problem, whatsoever with overt exhibitions of homosexuality... so, Christians need to keep it behind locked doors, but homosexuals can publically display their sexual preferences? Now, before you take this wrong, I personally, do not believe hetero sexuals need to flaunt their preferred sexual choices in public also, CHILDREN may be present, and regular people do not need to see anyone getting it on in public. SOME things NEED to be kept private. On the other hand, that very same Liberal, was not against Muslims wearing the Habib & Burqha in public nor was she against Muslims demanding private prayer rooms from schools in order to do their praying. If its good for one, WHY, oh WHY isn't it good for ALL religions??????

  • At 6:46 PM, Blogger chefwes said…

I can only speak from my own perspective, however, as i noted, not ALL Liberals are atheists, but, most atheists are Liberals.
As for what the percentage of Americans being "Christian", I have no idea, especially not when you get into the many variations, or when you compare those who practice their denomination as composed to those who give "lip Service" to it.
Personally, I am "Christian", tho I am Non Denominational, and have some fairly "Radical" ( maybe even Liberal, lol) views on Christianity,
I say this to state, no, I do NOT think there should be the public prayer in schools, such as there was when I was a young child. Did it hurt? No, but it was a mass type of prayer, very generic, and therefore, in my view, unmeaningful. I fully believe that NO one can stop a child from praying, silently ( look at all the private prayer before and exam!)I do not want MY children forced into a meaningless "prayer", from anyone. However, if the Muslims can have their own private prayer room, then ALL religions need to have the same priveleges offered to them!

I agree with you. Nick is often flustered with me citing that I am not so much a liberal, and I say so because of issues such as what you brought up.

Any person, liberal or otherwise, that told me Muslims can display their religion, but Christians can not, I would fight tooth and nail against. Anyone that told my child s/he couldn't pray in school, I would fight the same. And there are many, many others I could think of.

My only general stance is that the government not involve itself with peoples lives (but no, I am not really a libertarian either). Personally, I don't think the school should organize prayer of any kind, simply because schools are public, and thus government run. That doesn't stop ANY student from praying, nor from setting up prayer groups, etc. ...nor should it stop them. It simply prevents a government body from being influenced by a religion, yes, even if it is the majority religion.

This is the same stance that I take with homosexuality. Now I agree with you that certain displays should perhaps be kept to the privacy of the home -- but I certainly feel the same way in that respect when speaking of a straight couple. Personally, I (emphasis) don't care, but I can see how it could affect some people. Other than that, though, I can't see any reason the government has for telling people they can't be together - regardless of their sex.
