THIS is ridiculous
Now, while me and The Lord have an understanding on alternate lifestyles and the gay and lesbian choices, I DO NOT CONDONE WHAT IRAN IS DOING.
Again, not my choice of lifestyle, but Iran doesn't give you CHOICE in anything.

Iran hangs two men, guilty of homosexuality.

Kevin, here's the thing about religion and even secular government. Principles based on God, not the decantors and all that, good. Living life, treating folks good, says God. Doing the robes, do what we say, from the men who are all too human. That's BAD.
Here's what Martin Luther said,
"God has not ruined any good men. However, many bad men can ruin God's Name."
Should the government control the church, no. Should one denomination control state and all religion, no. Ask Thomas Jefferson, aka The American Sphinx (good book by the way).
Kev, Christians aren't perfect, but there is a moral boundary even we do not go near. That's killing people for NO GOOD REASON.
Kevin, FYI, the state laws were the ones that jailed folks in the 1950s. As you can track the courts, most of those were overturned or ruled unconstitutional. There's right to privacy, until it threatens lives. 99.99999% of the gay and lesbian folks are not harmful. Although freaks like John Wayne Gacy, Richard Speck, and other serial killers, were dangerous.
A government and life based on God is fine with me. It's when men act like God or distort His Truth to their own means that offends me.
I do not feel America will ever have a theocracy. We're too diverse. I know America, like Australia and many Western lands have predominantly Christians registered or go to church semi-regular, but let us not forget our Jewish friends and Hindus and Muslims, and Buddhists. I see God as inclusive. Man is who makes things exclusive.
Look at the South pre 1963. "All men are equal, except in...."- Plessy v. Ferguson. That did not gel with the 13, 14 or 15 Amendments. Obviously.
To be continued....
