VE-DAY

Today, 60 years ago in 1945, the Nazi Armies laid down their arms in unconditional surrender to the Allies. The guns of Europe fell silent, after 5 1/2 years of warfare from the Steppes of Russia to the British Isles and from Finland to Malta. Over 55 Million lives were lost in this war. Revised figures come closer to upwards of 80 million.

The leaders of today, honored the sacrifice of the warriors of yesteryear.

Even leaders from Germany and Japan honored the Allied fighters today, in Moscow.
