24 Update

OK, last night, Jack and team were supposed to get a Chinese official to give info on Marwan. Yes, Marwan had some dealings with rogues in the PRC. The Chinese drug their feet, so Jack and Curtis were sent to get him. The President of the US was out of the room and President Palmer was acting and making the decisions. He and Jack agreed on nabbing the official but doing so using non-lethal force. Jack gets the official, but the Chinese security officers shoot up everything, hit the official and kill their own consul general. Jack is giving first aid to the diplomat and keeping him alive.
Jack arrives at CTU and needed a medical team. The team is operating on Paul Raines, Audrey's husband and the man who dove infront of Jack to stop a bullet for Bauer. Bauer sees no other team and orders the doctor to operate on the diplomat. The doctor relents, since he is prepping for the surgery on Raines' bullet wound. The doctor stabilizes the diplomat but as this occurs Paul dies. Jack gets the info, but an innocent civilian dies. Audrey is dispondent over this and is escorted from the CTU OR. Jack had to make a choice and is living with it.
Meanwhile, Palmer and Novick are trying to soothe over the consul raid with the Chinese government. Their government alleges that the assailant (Jack) killed the consul. Palmer denies any US involvement and promises full cooperation with the PRC. China relents and agrees to discuss with Palmer. However, their official says "You will hear from us again ...." and hangs up. Palmer and Novick go brief Logan, who is enraged over the prospect of the US at war with 1.5 Billion Chinese. Meanwhile, Marwan has the nuke prepped and it is placed on a missile, to be launched.
Tony and Michelle are trying to patch things up, even after Tony's live in girlfriend calls and rants, making Tony hang up on her. Tony and CTU Director Buchanan are now locking horns over the Chinese consul raid, and Michelle.
